The ILS has continued into the 2011 Training Plan for Clinical Hemodialysis Fresenius Medical Care.

During the month of January trained over 50 professionals in Basic Life Support and Immediate Life Support.

This forms part of the bet of the Fresenius Medical Care on improving the training of their employees nationally as well as standardized response to emergencies from their clinics to which chose the ILS as a partner.

The ability to provide training in Automated External Defibrillation of the IL was recognized in Madeira.

This accreditation, awarded by the Regional Service of Civil Protection Wood confirms the quality of the Training School of the ILS.

Sonae Sierra has implemented, starting today, Automated External Defibrillation Programs in eight of its malls, namely Colombo, Vasco da Gama, CascaiShopping, RioSul Shopping, LoureShopping, NorteShopping, ArrábidaShopping and GaiaShopping.

In the fore coming weeks all its malls will complete their process. A total of 182 operational elements, safety officers and operations assistants received training to operate the 28 defibrillators that will be available as part of the response to potential situations of sudden cardiac arrest among more than 180 million visitors annually.

Intelligent Life Solutions was responsible for designing, planning and implementing these defibrillation programs, and assumes its Management and Medical Direction.

The new application developed by Phils, Panic Attack, is now available for download at Apple store. This application aims to help individuals suffering from panic attacks, providing a set of tools that help them deal with these situations. The application has a singular feature: emergency call to a friend preset and sending the exact location of the individual in a state of crisis. Through the application is still possible to get information about this problem.

Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia of the Citroen Team won the Rally of Portugal, a race also marked by the victory of Safety. Intelligent Life Solutions took the Medical Directorate of the Rally and won the FIA recognition for the quality of work. In the end, the satisfaction of the pilots was well expressed on the image with the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Isabel Santos.

The first Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) program in public places, where medical direction is provided by Intelligent Life Solutions (ILS), was presented on March 26 at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP). The presentation included a simulation of the occurrence of a cardio-respiratory arrest and was attended by the Secretary of Health Manuel Pizarro.

ILS was chosen by ISEP to implement its program of AED and ensures the medical direction of the program, a fundamental legal requirement, due to the fact that AED’s can only be used by medical delegation and under medical supervision.

ILS, which recently became the first entity to obtain accreditation for training in AED, as defined by the National AED Program was also responsible for designing ISEP’s program and training and certification of their operators.

Implementing an AED program allows organizations to provide capacity to respond effectively to the situation of cardiac arrest and to define the mode of response, provide appropriate training and ensure the existence and proper use of AED equipment by non-physicians. Intelligent Life Solutions became the first entity to obtain accreditation for training Automatic External Defibrillation (AED), as defined by the National Program (PNDAE).

PNDAE was published by INEM I.P. on February 20, 2010 and came to define the contents of the training course to which the certification of AED operators are obliged as defined in Decree 188/2009. Additionally it established the need for accreditation by INEM to minister such training.

Intelligent Life Solutions training school is certified for CPR training byPortuguese Resuscitation Council, the representative in Portugal of the European Resuscitation Council.

 

ILS participated in the “Extrication Seminar” developed by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile), which took place in Vsemina - Czech Republic March 19, 2010.
The particularities of sporting competition, with specific safety policies that constrain the conduct of rescue teams as well as recognition that the majority of rescue teams have no training in extraction of victims of car racing led to the organization of this training.
The FIA Institute for Motor Sport Safety and Sustainability met so experts from 16 European countries and designed to reflect the new challenges that also new security systems are bringing to extracting victims of rally cars.

The Ministry of Health of Angola has chosen Intelligent Life Solutions for ther direct advising in preparing the organization of the health response to possible contingencies during the CAN 2010.
The work took place from October to December 2009, involving visits to health units and provinces and meetings with various stakeholders, including the CAN Commission and the Angola National Medical Emergency Commission. ILS has developed and submitted a Progress Report to the analysis of the preparation and suggestions for action and proposed a General Contingency Plan.
ILS also took part in the preparation for human resources to support emergency medical during the championship.

During the months of November and December ILS has been in Luanda and has conducted courses in medical emergencies to physicians and nurses from all the provinces where the championship would take place.
The training, held at the premises of the Hospital do Prenda in Luanda, had tremendous acceptance and allowed to train 151 nurses and 25 doctors in critical areas of action as emergency resuscitation and trauma.

 

Following a business partnership established between the Intelligent Life Solutions and Deloitte for a joint offer of services in the development and implementation of Contingency Plans for companies address Pandemic Flu, was promoted today a meet with the media.
With the presence of radio and television journalists was presented the analysis that ILS and Deloitte do about the potential impact of the epidemic in the Portuguese economy and in the value chain of enterprises, as well as the strategies that they must follow to reduce this impact.

ILS was present at Normédica held in Exponor 7 to 10 May. Highlights was the presentation of the ILS Service "Cardio Protected Area".

An Cardio Protected Area is a public place where there are constantly Automated External Defibrillator - AED and trained individuals to operate them, to ensure the existence of an appropriate response in situations of cardiac arrest.

Visitors could watch demonstrations of remote and permanent monitoring of DAE state, as well the management tool on-line associated.

 

As part of the scientific activities of the exhibition, the ILS held on Saturday the 9th of May in the Auditorium of Normédica, a workshop entitled "Sudden Death - the challenge."

When the heart suddenly stops beating this moment don´t need to correspond to the end of life. A Timely Defibrillation may allow recovery of heart rate. The existence of Automated External Defibrillators in public spaces and their use by non-medical, since the program covered by a properly certified organization, can be a very effective measure, enabling the creation of early defibrillation and achieve high success rates.

Presentation of AED program organization rules and its environment, allowed remind health professionals and to alert and sensitize the general public about the need to implement measures to organize the response to an emergency of this nature. Only then we can reduce the social dramatic impact of this pathology.
